Bandarlampung (Mediamerdeka)–The Provincial Government (Pemprov) of Lampung has added a budget of Rp. 2 billion which will be used for the installation of current guides on the Way Gebang and Way Billeu bridges.
The Way Gebang bridge itself in Pesawaran Regency and Way Billeu in Central Lampung Regency experienced a break due to being hit by floods at the end of 2021 ago.
“In the Revised APBD, we have proposed an additional IDR 2 billion for 2 bridges. That is to build river flow guides on two bridges. And each bridge has four wings,” said Head of the Lampung Province Bina Marga and Construction Development Agency (BMBK), Febrizal Levi Sukmana, when questioned on Tuesday (20/9/2022).
Levi explained that based on the results of the analysis of the two bridges, it is necessary to add a river flow guide so that when the rainfall is high, the water can flow quickly and safely.
“If there is no river flow guide or the wing of the bridge, it is feared that it will burst again when the rainfall is high. So we will install it,” he explained.
Meanwhile, the construction progress of the Way Gebang bridge with a budget of Rp. 3.7 billion has reached 70 percent, while the Way Billew bridge with a budget of Rp. 5 billion has reached 80 percent.
“Hopefully the construction of the two bridges will be completed according to our target, which is the end of this year,” he concluded . (*)
