Bandarlampung (Mediamerdeka) — The Regional Secretary of Lampung Province, Fahrizal Darminto, revealed that the absorption of the Lampung Provincial Government’s expenditure to date has only reached 57 percent or Rp.3.933 trillion of the total expenditure of Rp.7.003 trillion.
“The possibility of this absorption is still small because the income is also not maximized. Because spending depends on income. When this is budgeted, the money is not yet available,” he said when asked for information, Monday (19/9/2022).
Fahrizal explained that his party continues to make efforts to accelerate budget absorption in the hope that it can support efforts to increase the economy in the local area.
“Yesterday, during the governor’s meeting with the regents and mayors, it was emphasized that we must speed up the absorption process because if it is slow, these funds cannot be directly used for the economy,” he explained.
He also appealed to the Regents and Mayors to accelerate the absorption of the budget so that by the end of this year the absorption of the budget can run optimally.
Meanwhile, the chairman of Commission III of the Lampung Provincial DPRD, Ikhwan Fadil Ibrahim, asked the local government to immediately accelerate the absorption of the budget.
According to him, the acceleration of the absorption of the budget is to avoid any programs that do not run until the end of the fiscal year.
“If the tender is not immediately obtained, the winner must be re-tendered. Worried that the time is not enough so that the program cannot run. Accelerating budget absorption will also have an impact on improving the regional economy,” he said. (*)
